Essential Oils & Plant based Ingredients Are Essential For Organic Body Care. Here's Why:
Since biblical times, essential oils have been widely used for their anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-parasitical, insecticidal, medicinal and cosmetic benefits. Today, these oils are often used in pharmaceuticals, sanitary formulations, agricultural products and food productions.
Unfortunately, there are many profit-first organizations using their big marketing budgets to overwhelm our airwaves and store shelves, which can feel like we have lost our desire for the purity and the elements that made these oils “essential” in the first place. So many of these mass produced products are often so diluted with water that they are forced to load the product with preservatives to protect their watered down end product from mold and/or other bacterial growth. Let’s face it, when science is used for chemical based products and in some cases genetically modified plant usage, the results are proven to be less-than-stellar. In some instances, these products have been found to be very damaging to users while having lasting negative impacts on ones health and the wellbeing of the planet.

Biblical scripture states “the leaves of the trees are for the healing of the body". It’s hard to argue with this statement since we are all connected to nature itself. After all, we were created from the dust of the earth.

Helichrysum (Italicum) is a flower which produces an essential oil known to have great skin rejuvenating, anti-inflammatory and cell-regenerative properties. Helichrysum is also known as "Everlasting" and the "immortal flower" because it retains its shape and beautiful yellow coloring even if plucked and dried (it never wilts or fades). Just imagine what the properties of this flower can do for one's skin. This oil has amazing healing properties, including the ability to help reduce free-radical oxidative damage, stimulate cell regeneration, reduce the appearance of scars, stretch marks, dermatitis, and acne, as well as tone and tighten skin that has reduced elasticity – all which are issues of maturing skin.
If you’re looking to add some essential oils to add to your beauty routine, you’ll definitely want to consider neroli essential oil. It’s known for its ability to regenerate skin cells and to improve the elasticity of skin. It also helps maintain the right oil balance in the skin, making it an excellent choice for all skin types, especially supportive for anti-aging solutions. It refreshes the look of tired skin, minimizes the appearance of pores and helps to balance the sebum (help for oily skin). A lot of this is due to its ability to revive skin at the cellular level. Neroli essential oil can be beneficial for wrinkles, scars and stretch marks. Any skin condition caused by or related to stress should also respond well to the use of neroli essential oil since it has wonderful overall healing and calming abilities. It can also be useful for supporting bacterial skin conditions and rashes since it has antimicrobial ability. If that's not compelling enough, note that in the aromatherapy world, it's known as a powerhouse for its excellence with helping you relax and sleep.
Research and personal experiences tell us that rose oil can improve problematic skin (acne, eczema and/or redness), balance hormones, relieve anxiety, improve depression and naturally increase libido. Now we are simply going to stay focused on the wonderful healing properties this oil has in terms of supporting the skin. Rose oil contains a wide, complex array of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Rose essential oil has excellent emollient properties for moisturizing dry skin. It also offers antiseptic and astringent properties to treat acne and anti-inflammatory properties to help treat redness and flare-ups. It can also help refine skin texture, while supporting problematic, dry and aging skin. A study has even shown that rose essential oil can help heal wounds, (see study link below) as inhaling it inhibits water loss in the skin and lowers the concentration of cortisol (a stress hormone) in the body. Another reason to use rose oil for skin health is for its ability to increase your skin’s permeability. As German scientists explained in a 2010 article, one of the most intriguing aspects of rose essential oil is that, “for substances applied in rose oil, a clear relationship between their lipophilic character, chemical structure, and skin permeation could be confirmed.”
Basically, what this means is that when rose is added to your beauty and skin products, it opens up your skin to absorb more of the nutrients (and chemicals if your are buying from a company that use them, so be careful when selecting your body care).
What’s more, there's plenty of research that now provides a scientific basis for the long historical stories about argan oil’s beneficial effect on the skin (see link below for more info on studies). Why has this oil gained such momentum within the industry? Well, it's due to its effectiveness. We use it as a carrier oil for our formulations because it helps the body to immediately absorb the nutrients to improve your skin issues.
